I would STRONGLY DISCOURAGE previous crewmembers of the USS Benjamin Stoddert(DDG-22) from "Joining", or "Participating In" the Facebook Group;

REASON FOR BOYCOTT;
This Facebook Group permitted another group member to post OUTRIGHT LIES about the ship's History, and yet BANNED ME when I tried to "Set The Record Straight" with THE TRUTH.

SUPPORTING DETAILS;
The following are Details of TWO "Specific Lies" posted by "This Individual";
[1] He claimed that "The Stoddert" served in the Indian Ocean on it's "Last Cruise", and THAT, is COMPLETE RUBBISH!
"The Stoddert" went NOWHERE NEAR the Indian Ocean on it's "Last Cruise", but rather, on a 4 Month Cruise, extending over 6,500 Nautical Miles from "Home Port", IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!
This LAST DEPLOYMENT consisted of an Eastern Pacific Patrol(EASTPAC) off the coast of Central America, and a transit through the Panama Canal, for a "Liberty Port Visit" to the Caribbean Island of "Curacao", before returning to the "Home Port" of Pearl Harbor Hawaii, via the Panama Canal, to commence "Decommisioning".
How do I "Know" this?
Because I was a CREW MEMBER of "The Stoddert" during it's last two years, and I "Made" THAT ENTIRE LAST CRUISE, and THAT ENTIRE DECOMMISIONING PROCESS!
[2] He FURTHER "Claimed" that The USS Benjamin Stoddert was "Scrapped Out" in the United Kingdom after Decommisioning.
WRONG!
"The Stoddert" SANK in the PACIFIC OCEAN, on Feburary 3rd, 2001, while it was being "Towed" in route from the National Defense Reserve Fleet at Suisun Bay California, for a PLANNED "Final Destination" at Brownsville Texas, where it was scheduled to be "Scrapped", but OBVIOUSLY "Didn't Make" It.

OUTCOME;
THIS "Group Member", who "Told" THESE LIES, reported ME to the Group Admin, in RETALIATION for me "Contridicting" HIM, when I challenged his statements as being "False", and providing the ACTUAL HISTORICAL FACTS.
The Group Admin's "Response", was to "Ban" ME from The Group!

SUMMARY;
So THAT being "Said", what would be the point of EVEN PARTICIPATING in THAT Group, unless THE GOAL is to "Consume or Spread", LIES AND FALSEHOODS concerning the History of the USS Benjamin Stoddert(DDG-22)?
